*Do not expect James Gunn and DC Studios’ “Superman” to be an extension of the 1978 classic, “Superman: The Movie.”
Considering how empty-headed, weak-minded, and irrational the 21st century is by its choices in leadership, Gunn has reflected that in his latest iteration of the Man of Steel.
With a never-ending diet of unreal reality shows, crude Housewives shows, and social media, “Superman” filmmakers have taken all of this into consideration.
But not learning from “The Flash” and its foul language backlash, “Superman” thought it trendy for Supergirl to call Superman a “bitch.”
It was not cute or cool.

For the most part, DC Comics and the DC Universe have offered positive images and encouragement.
However, it was quite exhausting watching Superman (David Corenswet) constantly get his behind kicked to prove his vulnerability.
At least “Superman” does not shy away from the current conflicts facing the world. The film follows Superman’s journey to reconcile his heritage as the Kryptonian Kal-El with his human upbringing as Clark Kent of Smallville, Kansas, and his selfless determination to use his power for good as humanity’s protector.
Guided by human kindness in a world that sees kindness as old-fashioned, he is the embodiment of truth, justice, and a better tomorrow.
That being said, Superman becomes a victim of a smear campaign and destructive lies put out by his diabolical nemesis, Lex Luthor (Nicholas Hoult). Luthor is a power-hungry billionaire who will stop at nothing to increase his empire and destroy Superman.

In this reboot, Superman also becomes embroiled in a global conflict and takes the side of an invaded country. Needless to say, this could speak to the war in Ukraine or Israel’s extermination of those in Gaza. Bringing even more drama to “Superman” is Wendell Pierce as the Daily Planet’s editor, Perry White. Suffice to say, a lot unfolds in “Superman.”

The film also stars Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Nathan Fillion, Isabela Merced, Skyler Gisondo, Sara Sampaio, María Gabriela de Faría, Alan Tudyk, Pruitt Taylor Vince, Neva Howell, Terrance Rosemore, and Christopher McDonald.
