
*Irv Gotti’s private funeral on February 19 at the Greater Allen A.M.E. Cathedral in New York drew numerous notable figures from the music industry.
According to TMZ, attendees reportedly included Murder Inc. artists Ja Rule, Ashanti, Lloyd, Charli Baltimore, and Vita, along with Jay-Z, Gayle King, Fat Joe, Steve Stoute, Hype Williams, Benny Boom, and Angie Martinez.
Gotti died on Feb. 5 after suffering a stroke at the age of 54. Throughout his career, he played a pivotal role in shaping hip-hop and R&B. For years, he battled health complications related to diabetes. He reportedly suffered a previous stroke seven months before his passing. Ja Rule delivered an emotional eulogy at Gott’s funeral service, a snippet was shared on X (see clip below).
“I won’t take up any more time,” said the rapper. “I just want to say Irv, I love you. Everyone in this room loves you. You touched everybody in your own way and everybody has their moments of that with you. We’re all here in celebration of your life because it will live on forever. I love you my brother; see you when I get there.”
After his passing, Gotti’s family shared a heartfelt statement on his Instagram page.

“Our dad was an incredible man, a true visionary who transformed the Hip-Hop industry and changed the game for artists and fans alike. His passion for music and dedication to his craft inspired many, and his contributions will continue to influence future generations,” the family said.
“As we navigate this difficult time, we kindly ask for privacy while we grieve the loss of our dad, son, brother, uncle, and friend. We take comfort in knowing that his spirit will live on through his music and the love he shared with all of us,” the statement continued.
Gotti is survived by his children—Angie, Sonny, and Jonathan Wilson—along with his brother and Murder Inc. co-founder, Chris Gotti, his mother Nee Nee Lorenzo, and his sisters, Tina and Angie.
