*The Atlanta Hawks are pressing ahead with their “Magic City Monday” promotion, scheduled for March 16 against the Orlando Magic, which features a partnership with the city’s iconic strip club Magic City.
As part of the event, fans can purchase a limited-edition Peachtree-themed hoodie reading “Magic City” with the Hawks logo on the sleeve, and enjoy two versions of Magic City Kitchen’s signature lemon pepper wings, including the Louwill Lemon Pepper BBQ flavor named after former Hawks guard Lou Williams, Front Office Sports reports.
Despite the celebration’s cultural focus, several NBA players have criticized the promotion. Spurs center Luke Kornet published a letter on Medium urging the Hawks to cancel the event, writing: “The NBA should desire to protect and esteem women, many of whom work diligently every day to make this the best basketball league in the world.”

He added, “We should promote an atmosphere that is protective and respectful of the daughters, wives, sisters, mothers, and partners that we know and love.”
Warriors center Al Horford, who played for Atlanta from 2007 to 2016, supported Kornet’s message on X, posting simply, “Well said Luke.”
The Hawks have declined further comment on the criticism.
The event remains on the schedule, and the team appears committed to continuing the promotion.
