Diddy Gets 50 Months in Prison for Federal Charges
*As we reported last week (10-03-25), Sean “Diddy” Combs was sentenced to 50 months in federal prison. He was convicted of violating the Mann Act by transporting individuals across state lines for prostitution.
The music mogul avoided harsher charges, including sex trafficking and racketeering, which could have led to life in prison.
In addition to prison time, Diddy was fined $500,000. He must also complete three years of supervised release after serving his sentence. During the emotional sentencing hearing, Diddy’s legal team played videos from family and friends to plead for leniency. The judge acknowledged these appeals as a reason for the lighter sentence.

Suge Knight Reacts from Prison, Claims Favoritism
Just two days later, Suge Knight spoke out in a phone interview from his California prison. The former Death Row Records co-founder is currently serving 28 years for voluntary manslaughter. Knight mocked Diddy’s sentence and called it proof of government favoritism.
“As far as Puffy is concerned, it’s a great day for him. It’s an even better day for his family… Overall, though, it’s not surprising. We do all know one thing: like I said before, Puffy has strong ties with the government. With the feds and anybody else woulda been cooked.”
He compared Diddy’s courtroom presentation to a political campaign, joking that all it lacked was a DJ. Knight also said he wasn’t allowed to say anything during his own trial, highlighting what he sees as double standards.
Suge Knight Calls It a “Good Day for Hip-Hop”
Despite his jabs, Knight called the moment a “good day for Hip-Hop,” though he implied Diddy avoided real punishment. He noted that none of Diddy’s baby mothers testified in person, though a few sent letters of support.
“Only thing I was waiting on was them bringing out the DJ and start playing music and letting him do what he does best—dance and shake that a** and end up with no time.”
Knight sarcastically dubbed the 50-month sentence the “deal of the centuries,” adding that other celebrities like Usher and Russell Simmons were likely happy with the outcome.
Diddy and Suge Knight’s Feud Resurfaces
The two men have a long history, dating back to the deadly East Coast vs. West Coast rivalry of the 1990s. Knight has often accused Diddy of having ties to major scandals, including conspiracy theories around Biggie and Tupac’s deaths.
This isn’t Knight’s first time speaking on Diddy’s legal troubles. In past interviews, he warned that Diddy’s “life is in danger” and urged him to tell the truth “to fix the culture.”
Public Reaction Fuels Online Debate
Knight’s comments quickly went viral, especially after YouTube channel The Art of Dialogue aired the full interview. Clips spread across X, gaining thousands of views. Many debated whether Knight had a point or was just seeking attention.
The viral moment reignited talks about racial and celebrity bias in federal sentencing, since Diddy’s 50-month term falls below the typical guideline of 51–63 months.
