The boy’s mother, Chalaine Scott, launched a GoFundMe campaign to show appreciation for Bell. At the time of reporting, the fundraiser had exceeded $10,000, with donations continuing to climb. In the campaign description, Scott wrote, “As most of you have seen on social media, there’s an amazing waitress who works for TGI Fridays at the Atlanta Airport.”
Scott went on to describe the encounter in detail, explaining how Bell noticed her crying son and immediately stepped in. “As she walked by, she saw him crying, stopped in her tracks, put her arms out to him and said ‘cmon ain’t no crying in here let’s go get a treat!’” Scott wrote. She added that Bell comforted the child by carrying him, bringing him fruit, and continuing her duties without missing a beat.
Scott concluded her message by emphasizing the broader impact of the gesture, writing, “The world is full of so much hate and division, so when you find someone who’s just pure JOY, they can really make an impact.”
