*After just straight trippin’ and delaying for what seems like forever, Rudy Giuliani has tentatively settled a defamation case with Georgia election workers Ruby Freeman and Wandrea “Shaye” Moss, allowing him to retain his Upper East Side co-op apartment and other personal properties that were at risk.
The settlement came just hours before Giuliani was set to appear at a federal court trial in Manhattan, a proceeding that had the potential to leave him financially destitute.
The details of the settlement emerged through a filing posted in the court’s docket, stating that it would bring closure to all ongoing litigation among the parties involved. Giuliani’s attorney, Joseph Cammarata, read a statement outside the courthouse, in which Giuliani expressed satisfaction with the agreement.
“I am satisfied with and have no grievances relating to the result we have reached,” he noted, highlighting the amicable resolution.
The defamation case against Giuliani arose from his unfounded accusations of ballot fraud directed at Freeman and Moss, claims which led to death threats against the women and forced them into hiding. Following a previous ruling, Giuliani was ordered to pay approximately $148 million in damages to the plaintiffs for the harm caused by his defamatory statements, the NY Daily News is reporting.

In his announcement, Giuliani emphasized the emotional toll of the litigation on all parties involved, urging for a cessation of any further derogatory comments.
“No one deserves to be subjected to threats, harassment, or intimidation… this whole episode was unfortunate,” he stated, reflecting a newfound perspective on the ordeal.
Freeman and Moss echoed similar sentiments in their statement, describing the litigation as a “living nightmare” over the past four years. They expressed relief at reaching an agreement that allows them to move forward with their lives, noting, “Today is a major milestone in our journey.” As part of the settlement, Giuliani will not only retain his property but also agree to refrain from making any further defamatory remarks about the women.
This turn of events came at a critical moment, as Giuliani was on the verge of losing multiple valuable assets, including his Florida condo and various items tied to his legacy, such as sports memorabilia. Federal Judge Lewis Liman had previously ordered him to surrender significant assets to satisfy the substantial judgment against him.

In stark contrast to the legal turmoil he faced, Giuliani’s absence from the trial was marked by a social media post featuring a video of a dog at Mar-a-Lago, which left reporters speculating on his whereabouts and priorities. Furthermore, Giuliani’s recent legal battles have included contempt findings against him for failing to comply with court orders, further complicating his defense efforts.
With the settlement, Giuliani has managed to avert a complete financial collapse while Freeman and Moss take a significant step toward reclaiming their lives after enduring years of distress. The resolution serves not only as a legal conclusion but also as a reminder of the personal struggles faced by those impacted by the errant actions of public figures.
