*Michelle Obama took to social media to honor her husband, former President Barack Obama, in a heartfelt Father’s Day tribute, effectively silencing rumors of marital discord.
Sharing a nostalgic photo of the couple with their daughters, Malia, 26, and Sasha, 24, from their younger years, Michelle wrote, “I love looking back at photos like this of when our girls were younger. @BarackObama has always been there for us no matter what — even when it felt like the weight of the world was on his shoulders.”
She added, “We’ve always been so grateful. To Barack and all the dads and father-figures celebrating today, Happy Father’s Day!”
The former first lady has addressed persistent speculation about her marriage on her IMO podcast. As USA Today reports, Michelle firmly debunked divorce rumors during a May 1 episode of The Diary of a CEO with host Steven Bartlett. “If I were having problems with my husband, everybody would know about it,” she stated, noting that her brother and podcast cohost Craig Robinson “would know it” too.
She emphasized, “I’m not a martyr,” underscoring her openness about personal challenges.

Speculation intensified when Michelle skipped President Donald Trump’s recent inauguration, prompting assumptions about her marriage. On her IMO podcast in April, she addressed the backlash, saying, “My decision to skip the inauguration – or my decision to make choices at the beginning of this year that suited me – were met with such ridicule and criticism. People couldn’t believe that I was saying no for any other reason. They had to assume that my marriage was falling apart.”
Sources close to the couple have dismissed the separation claims, noting Michelle’s enjoyment of life outside Washington, D.C., as she attends events independently.
