
*A Kansas City paramedic was fatally stabbed while on duty early Sunday morning in a shocking attack that unfolded inside an ambulance.
Graham Hoffman, a 29-year-old firefighter-paramedic, was reportedly stabbed in the chest by a patient he was treating en route to the hospital, TooFab reports. Hoffman was working an overtime shift when the incident occurred. The alleged attacker, 39-year-old Shanetta Bossell, has been charged with first-degree murder, armed criminal action, third-degree assault, and resisting arrest. Her bond is set at $1 million.
“He loved to travel, and he loved serving his community,” said Battalion Chief Michael Hopkins of the Kansas City Fire Department.
“Speaking with a lot of his classmates and folks that work with him today, he was very vibrant. Loved to travel, and he loved serving his community,” Hopkins added.
According to police reports, emergency responders were dispatched around 1 a.m. after receiving a call about a woman walking along the highway with a heavily bleeding finger. Although Bossell initially declined transport, she eventually agreed to go to the hospital. During the ride, she allegedly pulled a knife and stabbed Hoffman in the heart.

The ambulance driver immediately signaled to trailing officers by activating the siren and shouting, “She has a knife!” On law enforcement memener on scene struggled to detain Bossell, who allegedly tried to flee by commandeering the ambulance and biting the officer before being subdued.
Hoffman was rushed to a hospital and underwent emergency surgery, but succumbed to his injuries.
Authorities revealed Bossell had been arrested days earlier for allegedly biting an off-duty officer and was released on bond shortly before the fatal incident.
Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas expressed concern over the suspect’s recent release, stating, “I believe in our justice system and will await further information… about all that could have been done to avoid it.”
