*Actor Isaiah Stokes, known for his roles in “Law & Order” and “Boardwalk Empire,” was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison for the murder of Tyrone Jones in Queens.
The crime, which prosecutors described as a “calculated” and revenge-driven act, saw Jones shot nearly a dozen times while sitting in his parked car on February 7, 2021, New York Post reports. The tragedy stemmed from a four-month-long vendetta between Stokes, 45, and the 37-year-old victim, Jones. The dispute began in October 2020 when Jones threw Stokes out of his birthday party after a confrontation. Stokes, furious over the incident, tracked Jones by attaching a GPS device to his car and stalked him for over a week before the murder.
In an emotional victim impact statement at the sentencing, Jones’s father, Tyrone Jones Sr., described the devastating loss of his son.
“I can remember the day that my son was brought into this world – a happy father I was. TJ was fun…a loving uncle and nephew. What I don’t want to remember, Isaiah Stokes, is the day that you decided to murder my son.” Jones Sr. said.
He called the actor “a monster” and lamented that his son did not die “from a car accident or disease,” but from the hands of Stokes.

“TJ did not die from a car accident or a disease, but by the hands of a monster,” the father continued.
Stokes showed no remorse during the sentencing. He was convicted of second-degree murder and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon. He attempted to argue the case during the proceedings, prompting Judge Kenneth Holder to rebuke him.
“You’re not a lawyer and frankly, you don’t know what you’re talking about,” Judge Holder told Stokes.
“Whatever movie you watched to plan this killing, you clearly watched the bootleg version, because no one could intentionally plan a murder and carry it out as stupidly as you did,” he remarked.
Jones Sr. spoke to the media and expressed his relief that Stokes would never be free again.
“It’s never going to be justice because I’m never gonna get my son back,” he said.
