*After a 14-year hiatus, the “Final Destination” franchise is making a bloody comeback with its sixth installment, “Final Destination: Bloodlines.”

Warner Brothers gives horror fans a teaser of the highly anticipated film in the newly released clip above. The franchise, known for its shocking and gruesome deaths, has spanned six films, with the last entry, “Final Destination 5,” premiering in 2011.

Directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein, the movie stars Teo Briones, Tony Todd, Kaitlyn Santa Juana, Rya Kihlstedt, Richard Harmon, Owen Patrick Joyner, Anna Lore, and Brec Bassinger.

The synopsis states: “The newest chapter in New Line Cinema’s bloody successful franchise takes audiences back to the very beginning of Death’s twisted sense of justice—Final Destination Bloodlines. Plagued by a violent recurring nightmare, college student Stefanie heads home to track down the one person who might be able to break the cycle and save her family from the grisly demise that inevitably awaits them all.”

“If you screw with Death’s plans, things can get very… messy,” a description on Warner Bros.’ YouTube channel states, noting that the film “takes audiences back to the very beginning of Death’s twisted sense of justice.”

Guy Busick and Lori Evans Taylor penned the screenplay from a story by Jon Watts based on characters created by Jeffrey Reddick.

Speaking of the latest installment in a 2023 interview with Collifer, Reddick, said: “This film dives into the film in such a unique way that it attacks it from a different angle so you don’t feel like, ‘Oh, there’s an amazing setup and then there’s gonna be one wrinkle that can potentially save you all that you have to kind of make a moral choice about or do to solve it.’ There’s an expansion of the universe that – I’m being so careful.”

“Final Destination: Bloodlines” arrives in theaters and IMAX on May 16.
