*After driving the Elantra N Line some time ago, I was ready to get my socks blown off with the Sonata. That wasn’t the case, but it was an impressive sedan with a few N Line features that elevated the look and made me look at Sonata a little differently. This might be the start of a new love story. Let’s get into it.
The Look: The 2025 Sonata N Line immediately makes you wanna say, “okaay” with its sporty vibes and visual updates. You can catch her rolling on 19-inch alloy wheels, bold dual exhaust outlets, and sharp N-branded accents on the front grille and rear paneling —which give it that super hott, performance-inspired stance.
Inside, the Sonata definitely focuses on the comfort of the driver with sport seats with that N Line stitching. I loved the aluminum pedals, and the dash featuring the seamless infotainment screen I love so much. The red stitching and trim really bring a new, fun dynamic to the Sonata. Love it.
The Drive: Though the Sonata N Line doesn’t give you the fun turbo boost buttons, it is giving that turbocharged performance with a 2.5 L turbocharged engine. That gives you, the driver, some fun drives with the right amount of acceleration just when and where ya want it and some sharp handling. And, have a little fun with different drive modes, along with paddle shifters for the ones who like a lil racecar action.
I found the ride to be fine, not the smoothest, having to be a bit ginger on those familiar potholes in the road. And this Sonata N Line is giving about 27 mpg combined city and highway.
The Tech: The Sonata N Line brings tech that complements its performance focus. Like I mentioned before, that curved dual 12.3-inch display houses both the digital gauge cluster and touchscreen infotainment. And of course the system supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The safety and driver assistance features are comprehensive. Standard equipment includes adaptive cruise control with Highway Driving Assist, intelligent lane-centering, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and automatic emergency braking, which sometimes was a bit bothersome. The aspect of safety is important but certainly challenges driver control for those touch moves or tight spaces.
Overall, the 2025 Sonata N Line is a beautiful, sporty update for the midsize sedan. It combines that bold Hyundai styling and bolstered handling with all of the reliable tech and safety features you’d want in a vehicle.
This trim is giving a more aggressive and stylish feel that definitely switches up expectations for the Sonata overall.
