*Usher Raymond IV celebrated a significant milestone in his philanthropic journey as he concluded his 100-day Social Impact Tour with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Joseph B. Whitehead Boys & Girls Club in Atlanta.
The global superstar’s event unveiled a new Content Studio and Entertainment Industry Club, reinforcing Usher’s dedication to empowering youth through education, workforce development, and meaningful opportunities.
The impactful tour, launched in partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of America and the After School Alliance, reached over 4,800 young people across 11 cities, including major urban centers such as Washington, D.C.; Detroit; Philadelphia; Oakland; Houston; and Brooklyn.
“This Social Impact Tour marks a significant milestone in the evolution of Usher’s New Look and our mission to help young people discover their career spark,” said Shawn H. Wilson, Co-Founder of Usher’s New Look, acknowledging that they surpassed their initial goal of engaging 3,000 youth.
At the culmination event, Usher officially opened the Usher Raymond IV Spark Lab in collaboration with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta.
“Usher’s Spark Lab will not only be a resource to our Club members but also a space where they can gain hands-on experiences in fields like music production, filmmaking, photography, and more,” stated an excited David Jernigan, President & CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta.
He further emphasized that this initiative aligns perfectly with their mission of creating safe, inclusive environments that empower youth to explore their passions.
In addition to the Spark Lab, Usher’s New Look announced the launch of the Entertainment Industry Club, a pioneering workforce development and entrepreneurship program first introduced by Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeastern Michigan in 2020. This initiative empowers youth ages 14 to 24 with robust hands-on training, career exploration, and real-world experiences in high-demand fields. Participants will enjoy a structured curriculum that provides training led by industry professionals and offers paid opportunities at $15 an hour over 120 hours.
“Returning to the Boys & Girls Clubs, where I discovered my passion, and launching this program in Atlanta is a full-circle moment for me, Usher said, reflecting on his experience. “The Spark Lab and Entertainment Industry Club provides our youth with the tools, confidence, and opportunities they need to turn their dreams into reality. It’s an honor to help inspire the next generation of leaders and innovators.”
The ceremony also celebrated the 25-year legacy of Usher’s New Look and its unwavering commitment to transforming the lives of under-resourced youth through passion-driven leadership programs. With the launch of the Entertainment Industry Club set for 2025, Usher reaffirms his dedication to creating brighter futures for young people across the nation.
