Trump Attorney General Candidate Threatens to Jail Letitia James

YouTube video

*Attorney Mike Davis, who is reportedly being considered for Attorney General in a potential Trump administration, targeted New York Attorney General Letitia James in his latest rant about Democratic enemies.

Davis appeared on Benny Johnson’s online show to criticize James, whose office successfully won a civil fraud case against Donald Trump and his organization.

“I dare you to try to continue your lawfare against President Trump in his second term,” Davis said, The Daily Beast reports. “Because listen here, sweetheart: We’re not messing around this time, and we will put your fat a– in prison for conspiracy against rights, and I promise you that.”

“So, think long and hard before you want to violate President Trump‘s constitutional rights, or any other American‘s constitutional rights,” he continued. “It’s not going to happen again.”

Meanwhile, James and Governor Kathy Hochul pledged to fight back against possible “revenge or retribution” from Trump when he returns to the White House next year, Fox News reports.

“I want to be very clear that while we honor the results of this election and will work with anyone who wants to be a partner in achieving the goals of our administration in our state, that does not mean we’ll accept an agenda from Washington that strips away the rights that New Yorkers have long enjoyed,” Hochul said.

Hochul announced the creation of the Empire State Freedom Initiative, aimed at protecting reproductive rights, civil rights, immigration, gun safety, labor rights, LGBTQ rights, and environmental justice.

“Our team will do whatever we have to do to identify any possible threats to these rights that we hold dear in the state of New York and protect New Yorkers,” Hochul said. “This will include legislation, rulemaking, appropriations and partnerships with our congressional delegation and including the Biden administration at this time.”

James acknowledged that she and other state officials did not anticipate Trump winning the 2024 presidential election, but emphasized they would work with his administration “if possible.”

“We did not expect this result, but we are prepared to respond to this result. And my office has been preparing for several months because we’ve been here before,” James said. “We faced this challenge before, and we used the rule of law to fight back. And we are prepared to fight back once again because, as the attorney general of this great state, it is my job to protect and defend the rights of New Yorkers and the rule of law. And I will not shrink from that responsibility.”
