‘The Chi’ Casts Kadeem Hardison, Leon, Brett Gray and Daniel J. Watts for Season 6 Return

*Part 2 of season 6 of Showtime’s “The Chi” will introduce four new actors in recurring guest star roles when it returns on May 10, according to Deadline. Joining the ensemble are Kadeem Hardison from “A Different World,” Leon from “Swarm,” Brett Gray from “I’m A Virgo,” and Daniel J. Watts from “Werewolf By Night.”

Hardison steps into the role of Professor Gardner, a literature professor at the college level. Leon portrays Alonzo, a charismatic attorney with deep connections to Alicia (guest star Lynn Whitfield). Gray takes on the character of Damien, a sharp-minded individual whose presence profoundly impacts Emmett’s (Jacob Latimore) life. Watts embodies the character of Pastor Ezekiel, the dynamic leader of a megachurch.

Under the helm of Lena Waithe’s Hillman Grad banner and with Common serving as executive producer, “The Chi” tells a poignant coming-of-age tale centered around interconnected lives on Chicago’s South Side, driven by the yearning for connection and redemption.

In the first part of Season 6, Emmett (Latimore) and Kiesha’s (Birgundi Baker) relationship faces challenges due to Emmett’s risky dealings with Douda (Curtiss Cook), who grapples with the aftermath of Q’s murder and its impact on loyalty within his circle. Victor (Luke James) confronts his past as he embraces his role as a city councilman.

Meanwhile, newlyweds Jada (Yolonda Ross) and Darnell (Rolando Boyce) worry about their son Emmett’s safety following a dangerous decision he makes. Business ventures thrive for Rob (Iman Shumpert), Tiff (Hannaha Hall), and Jake (Michael V. Epps), while Papa (Shamon Brown Jr.) finds love but grapples with faith after losing his father tragically.

Kevin (Alex Hibbert) seizes a gaming opportunity in Los Angeles, leaving Maisha (Genesis Denise Hale) to pursue her career aspirations amidst shifting priorities.

Guest stars in Season 6 include a lineup of talented actors such as Jill Marie Jones, Kandi Burruss, La La Anthony, Vic Mensa, and more.

Hardison is renowned for his role as “Dwayne Wayne” on “A Different World” and has appeared in numerous TV series. Leon’s recent credits include “Swarm” and “City on A Hill.” Gray previously starred in “I’m a Virgo” and “On My Block,” while Watts boasts an extensive resume spanning stage and screen.
