*Cat Glover, the singer and dancer best known for her work with Prince, has passed away at 60.
According to Deadline, Cat’s death was announced on her official Facebook page. “It’s with great sadness that we formally announce the passing of Catherine Vernice Glover- AKA ‘Cat.’ Please allow her children, family and friends privacy at this difficult time,” the statement said.
The cause of death was not disclosed, but the Facebook message states that further details “will be released in due course.”
Born in Chicago in 1964, Glover first gained attention in 1986 as part of the dance duo Pat & Cat on “Star Search.” Despite receiving an offer to work with David Bowie, she chose to collaborate with Prince, becoming a dancer and backing vocalist on his “Sign o’ the Times” and “Lovesexy” tours.
Glover also contributed to the tracks “Cindy C.” and “Alphabet St.” After leaving Prince, she continued to choreograph and perform.

Glover said in a 2018 radio interview that she left Prince’s team, in part, due to his focus on the 1989 “Batman” soundtrack.
Glover’s last conversation with Prince took place in 2014, when he unexpectedly called her while she was recovering in the hospital from a serious health issue.
“He said a lot of people reached out to him,” Glover said. “He had my back. He was there all the time….”
