*Reality TV star Chrisean Rock is being sued and facing criminal charges months after she allegedly assaulted singer James Wright Chanel.
We reported earlier that Rock punched Chanel repeatedly backstage at a Tamar Braxton concert at the Novo club on Nov. 10 in Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Times reports.
Braxton previously said James “got assaulted at my show and it was by Chrisean. But, there were a lot of events that I believe were misconstrued.”
The singer allegedly invited Rock to perform at the show, and viral videos show Rock was an annoying, drunken hot mess at the event. Hear what Tamar had to say about the assault in the Instagram video below.
After the violent attack, James shared a video on social media of him at the dentist getting his teeth fixed that Rock allegedly knocked out.

“She hit him multiple times in the face for no reason at all. We were surprised that she was able to leave the facility that night,” said Wright’s attorney, Kevin Anderson, per the LA Times. “She had on rings that were pretty much equivalent to brass knuckles.”
In court docs filed Tuesday, Rock (born Chrisean Malone) “thought she was supposed to rap during the show, but Wright believed she was only supposed to take part in a dance performance at the end of the show,” the LA Times writes. The two exchanged words over this, and Rock allegedly became so enraged that she struck James multiple times in the face, according to the lawsuit.
Wright sought medical treatment for two broken teeth and cuts on his face.
A criminal case was filed in January against Rock in Los Angeles Superior Court, accusing her of assault with a deadly weapon and battery, the LA Times reports.
