*Tiffany Haddish is clearly obsessed with Shakira because she embarrassed herself at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards while trying to get the singer’s attention.
A viral video on Twitter and Instagram shows Haddish screaming Shakira’s name while chasing her down at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. Haddish is relentless in her pursuit of the artist and fails to immediately catch the pop star’s attention.
“Shakira! Shakira!” Haddish repeatedly shouts as Shakira makes her way through a crowd. When the “Girls Trip” star catches up with the musician, she photobombs her several times and Shakira continues to ignore her. Haddish then crashed Shakira’s red carpet moment.
As Complex reports, several Twitter users had plenty to say about the cringe-worthy encounter, with one person writing, “I got 2nd hand embarrassment from watching this lol.”
“Embarrassing bruh,” another commented, “She is almost literally chasing her down.”

Haddish attended the VMAs to present the Best Afrobeats category. The award went to Rema and Selena Gomez for their song “Calm Down.”
Shakira received the Video Vanguard award, which was presented by her “Hips Don’t Lie” collaborator Wyclef Jean.
