Kuiper has since apologized, with NBC Sports California announcing that he will be off the air until further notice. The network broadcasts the A’s games.

Kuiper apologized during Friday’s broadcast, saying “A little earlier in the show, I said something, didn’t come out quite the way I wanted it to. I just wanted to apologize if it sounded different than I meant it to be said.”

Meanwhile, the National Negro League Baseball Museum announced a $25 million fundraising campaign for a new building to house its world-famous collection of baseball memorabilia, The Associated Press reports.
