Michael Strahan Absent from ‘GMA’ Due to ‘Personal Family Matters’

*GMA host Michael Strahan has been absent from the daytime talk show and will miss more tapings due to “personal family matters.”

The former NFL star will be out for another week, The Blast reports. A spokesperson for the television network said: “Michael Strahan will not be with us this week as he is dealing with some personal family matters. We appreciate everyone’s thoughts and concerns.”

Strahan has missed two weeks of tapings, and he’s been silent on social media since October 25. ABC anchor Linsey Davis is filling in until he returns.

Strahan is an analyst on Fox NFL Sunday and has not taped the program for the past two weeks.

Strahan is a dad to four adult children from two separate marriages. Per People, he shares his two older kids, Tanita, 31, and Michael Jr., 28, with his first wife, Wanda Hutchins, and his 19-year-old twins, Isabella and Sophia, with his ex-wife, Jean Muggli.

In 2021, Strahan took a trip to the edge of space with four other astronauts on board the Blue Origin. After the trek, he said, “I wanna go back.”

“You got to get that perspective,” Strahan added.

He also remarked on the darkness during the 10-minute flight.

“The Gs — it’s not a facelift; it’s a face drop. I know what I’m going to look like at 85,” he joked about G-force.

Strahan recounted his journey into space for a GMA segment – watch below.
