*Leslie Jones opens up about the impact of the sexual abuse she endured as a child in her new memoir, “Leslie F*cking Jones.”
In excerpts shared by People, the SNL star recalled being molested by a babysitter at age 2 or 3.
“It was one of my babysitters who messed with me,” Jones reportedly wrote in her memoir. “Man, I wish I could go back and fight that guy — that little girl couldn’t protect herself.”
Jones does not know if her parents knew about the sexual trauma she suffered before they passed away. But their unconditional love and boosted her confidence and self-esteem after experiencing childhood sexual abuse.
“My dad would always say to me, ‘I don’t care what they tell you, you can do whatever you want to do as long as you work hard,’” Jones told the People. “‘They’re going to tell you you’re Black, they’re going to tell you you’re a female.’ He’d say, ‘But none of that matters.’”

Jones added, “That’s why I never quit. There were days where I was just crying and worrying, but the thought always came to my head, ‘Okay, what can I do?’ Dad said, ‘Become undeniable.’”
Elsewhere in her memoir, Jones revealed that she had three abortions by her mid-twenties. She credits Planned Parenthood for saving her life.
“Prevention is what we should be teaching. If I’d even had an inkling of how to protect myself… I didn’t know any of that stuff. By my mid-twenties, I had had three abortions, and I thought, This is not a birth control method,” Jones wrote.
“Planned Parenthood saved my life,” she said. “I still give money to them to this day. When I went to Planned Parenthood, I finally learned how to prevent pregnancies and take care of myself.”
