Keke Palmer Pours Love into Single Parents in Emotional Video | Watch

*Keke Palmer posted a supportive message to single parents now that she has welcomed her first child with her boyfriend, Darius Jackson.

As EUR reported previously, the couple named their baby boy Leodis Andrellton Jackson. The actress shared a photo of her family on Instagram last month, writing, “Born during Black History Month, with a name to match! LEODIS ANDRELLTON JACKSON, welcome to the world baby Leo.”

Palmer followed up over a week later with a message of support to single mothers and fathers. In a post captioned “I aint gon lie, I’m getting’ COOKED”, Palmer said. “I just came on here to say, if you are a single parent, pull out your cape. Matter fact, clip your angel wings. Because I don’t know how it is you did it.”

She added, “And I really don’t want this to sound pander-y or something like this, because I know there are a million and one reasons why somebody wants to be a single parent or becomes a single parent. Maybe they lost somebody, maybe they don’t want to deal with somebody, maybe it’s a choice.”

Palmer continued “But when it comes to raising a kid, I’ve already learned in these short few days that it takes a village,” she wrote.

“And sometimes that’s a privilege. And I just want anybody out there that’s a single parents that’s been doing this—friends of mine, people that I don’t know, family members of mine—really in my heart, it brings tears to my eyes. I am just truly, profoundly impressed,” she continued 

Palmer’s emotional video received praise from her celebrity pals and single parents, with one person writing “Single parenting ain’t NOOOO JOKE! Mine is a senior next year and I’ll never do it again. Rewarding, but very difficult.” 

Another fan added, “Awwww Keke! I don’t know you but it means so much to hear you say this!!! I keep telling my son that I might not have done everything right, but I tried my best! It was hard.”
