*“Real Housewives of Miami” star Guerdy Abraira has revealed her breast cancer diagnosis in a new social media post.

In a statement shared on Instagram, the 45-year-old event designer said that she found out the news in March.

“I was in St. Barts having the time of my life when my doctor called me with results following a regular mammogram checkup. I have breast cancer,” Abraira states in her post.

“It took me a while to process it all and this is why I took a break from social media last month as many noticed. Many of you reached out to check on me and I am thankful for your caring gestures.”

Abraira went on to say she is “preparing for my upcoming surgery and then will come my treatment plan.”

“This process is definitely intense and what I ask of you is empowerment not pity,” she added.

In the comments of her post, one IG follower wrote, “Sending all the positive energy your way. You will get to celebrate your victory soon, too!”

Another wrote, “Guerdy i am praying for you everyday. You are such a beautiful human inside and out. Sending much love to your awesome family.

A third added, “YOU GOT THIS, GUERDY!! ???? As someone who sat with my dad through chemo and radiation it really makes all the difference to have a strong support system and you definitely have that. Sending love.”

“I will “guerdyfy” this cancer as I guerdyfy everything else in my life,” Abraira’s post continued. “I am lucky that this breast cancer was discovered at an early stage – it is still scary of course, but I have love and support from those around me and that alone is the fuel that I need.”
