*DJ Envy has responded to Nicki Minaj calling him out for “blackballing” her music in 2018.

“Remember how cocky DJ Envy was when he was saying he [blackballed] my music on the radio?” the “Queen” rapper recently wrote on X/Twitter. “Ask yourself how a DJ could get away w/that behavior.”

As Vibe reports, Envy explained his reasoning on The Breakfast Club during the Dec. 15 broadcast, stating, “I ride for all the DJ’s. Nicki Minaj at the time got upset and said she was sending some Queens dudes up here to pretty much beat [DJ Self] up. That was wack. You can’t threaten that man for his opinion.”

The popular radio host continued, “The DJ’s are always the ones that get picked on and that gets beat up. An artist never goes at the other artist, they always say ‘Well, why the DJ played the record.’ What I said was, ‘I’m not going to play Nicki’s record until they squash that beef.’”

Envy noted that he will “still play her music, and I’ll continue to play her music. I can’t blackball, all I can do is not play her in my mix.”

Nicki Minaj has not yet responded to Envy’s remarks. She’s probably too busy celebrating making history as the first female rapper to claim a No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 in over a decade. The milestone comes on the heels of her new release, “Pink Friday 2.”

It’s her third album to hit Number One, behind 2012’s “Roman Reloaded and 2011’s “Pink Friday.”

Nicki Minaj is now the first female rapper with the most chart-topping albums.
