Well, those words by Shakespeare don’t mean much for many businesses. A rose by any other name might smell as sweet, but it also matters who is selling it.
Rappers Snoop Dogg and Master P announced a new cereal brand “Snoop Loopz” back in August, and said a donation for each purchase would go to a charity. But they have found themselves searching for a new name for their breakfast cereal. Looks like somebody out there doesn’t want “Snoop Loopz” in the marketplace.
The rappers both took to social media to vent their sentiments after learning someone is out to block the cool name they chose for their cereal.

In the video, they both alleged that a giant in the cereal industry is determined to block their name.
“Snoop, you know when you’re doin’ something good…” wrote Master P, whose real name is Percy Robert Miller Sr.
“The devil gotta show up,” replied Snoop Dogg, whose real name is Calvin Broadus, Jr.
But as they say, things happen for a reason. Snoop and Master P went back to the drawing board and have come up with a new name for the cereal. Now as far as we’re concerned, it’s not as cool or catchy as “Snoop Loopz,” but it gets the job done. A few days ago the duo appeared alongside each other to announce the new name. Are you ready for “Snoop Cereal?” Well, ready or not, it is what it is.
As you can see in the video immediately above, the two entrepreneurs can be seen inside a kitchen, sitting at a table with three bowls and three packages of cereal on top of it. Wearing hoodies bearing the name ‘Snoop Cereal’ in shiny lettering and images of the brand’s cereal boxes, they speak on having to change the name despite the popularity of “Snoop Loopz.”
“I just wanna say salute to all the fans out there,” Master P told the camera. “I know everybody have been saying Snoop Loopz, they thought it was over. The fans, the customers said they was with us to the end.”
“Snoop Cereal” will come in three flavors: Frosted Drizzlers, Fruity Hoopz with marshmallows, and Cinnamon Toasteez. Yummy!
Master P also informs that “Snoop Cereal” and Broadus Foods’ distribution partner is Post, the company behind such iconic brands as Fruity Pebbles, Golden Crisp, Honey Bunches of Oats, Waffle Crisp, and others.
“Thanks to Post for looking at diversity,” Master P added. “We own this company. No, it’s not just us putting our name on this. We’re going to pass this down from generation to generation. We talking about generational wealth.”
“Snoop Cereal” will be available for purchase nationally by June 2023.
