*Prince Harry and Meghan Markle discuss their break from the British royal family in their new Netflix docuseries, which was released last week.

In it, the couple reveals that they had never met filmmaker Tyler Perry before fleeing to his home in the U.S. during operation Megxit, Page Six reports.

“I had never met him before,” Markle recalls, with Harry noting in the series that Perry “believes in us and wants to help.”

Perry sent Markle a note shortly before she and Harry’s 2018 wedding in which he said he was “praying for her just to be able to move through it and hold on” amid her father’s paparazzi controversy.

It wasn’t until Harry and Meghan landed in Canada that she called Perry and they spoke for the first time.

“I was just a wreck,” Markle shares in the doc. “I was just crying and crying. Sometimes it’s easier to just open up to someone who knows nothing at all, and that was that moment with me and Tyler.”

Perry put Harry and Meghan up in his $18 million estate and provided the couple and their young son with security.  The property boasts eight bedrooms, 12-bathrooms and sits on 22 acres at the top of a hill in a guard-gated community, according to E! News.

“It was bliss because no one knew we were there,” Harry says in the series, with Markle noting that they had a “slice of normal life.”

Harry and Meghan’s Netflix docuseries, simply titled “Harry & Meghan,” “does more than illuminate one couple’s love story, it paints a picture of our world and how we treat each other,” per the synopsis, PEOPLE reports.

According to Netflix, “the series explores the clandestine days of their early courtship and the challenges that led to them feeling forced to step back from their full-time roles in the institution.”

Directed by Liz Garbus, “Harry & Meghan” features “commentary from friends and family, most of whom have never spoken publicly before about what they witnessed, and historians who discuss the state of the British Commonwealth today and the royal family’s relationship with the press.”
