Amar’e Stoudemire Arrested After Punching Teen Daughter in Her Jaw

*Former New York Knicks star Amar’e Stoudemire was arrested over the weekend after a violent attack on his daughter. 

Stoudemire, 40, was charged with domestic violence Saturday night after allegedly punching one of his teenage daughters in the jaw at his Miami condo, according to the Miami Herald. He and ex-wife Alexis share four children, including two teenage daughters. The name of the daughter he allegedly assaulted has not been revealed. 

“I observed blood stains on the victim’s sweater and sweatpants,” the arrest report says, according to the Miami Herald. “The mother of the victim showed me the photo she received from her daughter, which shows the victim crying and blood running down her face.”

Stoudemire reportedly told his ex that their daughter was being “disrespectful” and was “giving attitude” to her grandmother, per the Herald. He allegedly “continued slapping her” after punching her in the face.

The report said Alexis went to Stoudemire’s home after the teenager made “a plea for help,” per the Herald. 

Stoudemire allegedly told police that his daughter “received a whooping from him for being disrespectful and a liar,” per the Herald.

According to Miami-Dade Corrections records, Stoudemire was arrested and released with a bond set at $1,500. He is also facing a misdemeanor battery charge, according to the report. 

Hours before “whopping” his teen daughter, Stoudemire graduated from the University of Miami with a master’s degree,  according to reporter Andy Slater.

“Congrats Stat! ???? @univmiami grad,” the Knicks wrote Saturday morning in a congratulatory tweet.
