*Humbl Hustlr is an Atlanta-based foundation that is doing remarkable work in the community to improve the quality of life for young black men, helping them to blossom, through an array of programs,  into the next generation of successful leaders.

Anchored by Hustl Print founder Lorenzo Gordon, the organization highlights the work of young professionals, entrepreneurs, and “corporate Hustlrs” who are making things happen behind the scenes, but do not always get the recognition and acknowledgement they deserve.

The non-profit also provides mentoring, entrepreneurship training and workshops aimed at giving youth the necessary guidance to take their visions and aspirations to the next level. At the beginning of the month (Aug. 1), Humbl Hustlr brought teens and the community together for its 2020 Entrepreneurship Pitch Competition and Vine City Community Cleanup.

Before six judges, teens from various Atlanta-area high schools presented their business concepts for an opportunity to win $1,000. The winner was Isaiah Waller of Booker T. Washington High School, followed by the runner-up, Jordan Jackson of Luella High School and then Aboubacar Barrie of Therell High School, who placed third and won a $250 prize. Following the pitch competition was a basketball clinic and community cleanup in the Vine City community.

“My goal is to really change the narrative about our young black men,” said Gordon. “Our mentees are from underserved areas and most of them have really been through a lot. Our focus is to assist them through their experiences by helping them to build businesses based on their story. They all have mission-based brands with a purpose to give back. By pulling from their personal journeys, it helps them to go above and beyond with their mission.”

In its third year, the Humbl Hustlr plans to establish a growing presence, with more resources and greater reach. Gordon says that the movement has already garnered support from State Farm and high profile figures such as Grammy Award-Winning Artist Lecrae, and Whoopi Goldberg, who has worn their apparel on ABC’s national show The View.
