Fox Soul: New Streaming Platform Aimed at African-American Viewers Launches Today – WATCH

*Can’t say we didn’t see it coming. Actually, we did see it ’cause it’s been in beta online at FoxSoul.com for several months now working out the kinks.

Now, it’s ready for the world, so to speak. That’s right, Fox TV stations are coming with a new, live, ad-supported streaming service aimed at African-American viewers it’s called, you guessed it,  Fox Soul.

Fox Soul will “aim to celebrate black culture and highlight the real topics that affect the everyday lives of the African American community through frank and insightful dialogue with local and national influencers,” reads the announcement.

The service uses the tag line of “Our Voice, Our Truth” and promises unfettered discussion of pop culture, politics, faith and personal advice.

It will launch with four original daily shows produced in Los Angeles and will also carry existing programs from Fox-owned TV stations in New York, Chicago and other large urban markets, which cater to black audiences.

“We are proud to debut this African American focused channel, created by and for the members of the black community. We intend to inform, inspire, and empower our viewers by meeting their needs for authentic conversations on topics relevant to our lives,” said James DuBose, head of programming for Fox Soul.

The channel’s lineup will combine live, interactive, original programming like “On the 7 with Dr. Sean,” “The Mike and Donny Show,” “The Tammi Mac Late Show,” “Out Loud with Claudia Jordan,” “Fit and Fab with Elise Neal,” and “One on One with Keyshia Cole,” with locally produced FOX TV shows, including “Later with Leon,” “The Q,” “Dish Nation,” “The Isiah Factor: Uncensored” and “Street Soldiers with Lisa Evers.”

Original programming from the service will be available on weeknights from 6pm Pacific through 10pm Pacific, followed by two hours of FoxTV’s locally-produced programming. This marks the first OTT streaming endeavor for Fox Television Stations.

“Fox Soul slaps down misnomers about our people and celebrates our culture and our excellence. I could not have asked for a better platform to speak greatness about and into my community. I’m confident our content will live up to its purpose and tagline, ‘Our Voice, Our Truth,’” Tammi Mac, host of “The Tammi Mac Late Show” told the TheWrap.
