Kevin Hart

*Kevin Hart hit up his Instagram account on Tuesday (Oct. 29) to post a video in which he opens up about the car accident he was involved in early last month. He also gave an update to fans about his recovery process, and how his life has changed.

We previously reported… the comedian underwent back surgery and therapy following the accident early morning on Sept. 1. According to a TMZ report, Hart was not driving the Plymouth Barracuda, a classic car he purchased to celebrate his 40th birthday back in July, when it smashed through wooden fencing along the winding and accident-prone Mulholland Highway. Crash scene video shows the car deep in a gully about 10 feet off the road.

“Basically, what you realize is that you’re’ not in control. No matter how much you think you’re’ in control, you’re not in control and at the end of the day it can all be over,” Hart says in the clip. “When God talks, you gotta listen. I swear life is funny. Because some of the craziest things that happen to you end up being the thing that you needed most. In this case, I honestly feel like God basically told me to sit down. When you’re moving to fast and you doing too much sometimes you can’t see the things you’re meant to see. But after my accident, I see things differently. I see life from a whole new perspective. My appreciation for life is through the roof. I’m thankful for my family, my friends… I’m thankful for the people that simply ride with me and have been with me ’cause you stood by me. My fans, thankful for all your love and support. Don’t take today for granted, ’cause tomorrow’s not promised. More importantly, I’m thankful for God, thankful for life. ” Hart ended the video by saying “looking forward to an amazing 2020.”

The driver of the vehicle at the time of the accident, Jared Black, was airlifted to UCLA Medical Center, but his condition is unknown. Jared’s fiancee, Rebecca Broxterman, was in the backseat, but made it out with minor pain/injuries.

TMZ reported that Hart is not planning to sue Black, but Black and Broxterman are allegedly gearing up to sue the funnyman for negligence, claiming the classic muscle lacked critical safety features such as airbags and safety harnesses, so says a TMZ.
