*After her booty call stood her up for a late-night hook up, a New Jersey woman allegedly set fire to his house, and now she’s in jail after being slapped with a slew of charges.
The victim told police he had fallen asleep after making arrangements with Taija Russell to come by his home for sex. After a series of missed calls, he woke up to his house ablaze, oxygen.com reports.
The Woodbury man invited Russell to his home “and stated that she was a ‘side chick‘ whom he had been having a sexual relationship with,” according to a probable cause statement obtained by the Cherry Hill Courier-Post.

He told police that he received eight missed calls from her that night and texts that allegedly said: “I see you wanna die” and “You wasted my money to come out here.’
Video surveillance shows Russell outside the man’s house “just prior to the fire,” police said. The man woke up around 4:30 am on Aug. 4 to find his home filled with smoke. He escaped by removing a window frame and climbing out, according to the Courier-Post via USA Today.
The man, described by police as “covered head to toe in soot and ash” and wearing only a T-shirt, ran two-tenths of a mile to Woodbury’s police station. Firefighters responded to the fire, saving the man’s dog.
The victim was taken to a hospital and treated for smoke inhalation and first- and second-degree burns.
“The residence and its contents were completely destroyed,” says the probable cause statement, which notes the fire was determined to be an arson.
Russell was arrested last Tuesday on charges of attempted murder, aggravated arson, endangering and criminal mischief.
