*On Thursday, May 17, the hosts of “The Real“ wonder if it’s time to retire the phrase “strong female role model” when it comes to talking about women empowerment. Co-host Adrienne Houghton declares it an honor and privilege to co-parent with your spouse’s ex, and all the ladies follow the clues to see if co-host Loni Love has been keeping it “real” about her love life!
Later, actress Jane Kaczmarek stops by to talk about her role in the L.A. Theatre Works production of “Spill.”
Adrienne: It’s An Honor and a Privilege To Co-Parent With Your Spouse’s Ex
Has Loni Not Been Keeping It “Real” About Who She’s Dating?
Adrienne: It’s An Honor and a Privilege To Co-Parent With Your Spouse’s Ex
Adrienne Houghton: Obviously, in my life, Israel’s ex-wife, Meleasa – we are friends, we co-parent and I think – I think that’s special and amazing and I think that I got the greatest example of that in my own family, I grew up in a blended family. My parents were married for 21 years, and my parents got divorced when I was 13, and til this day, as a family, we go on vacation together
[The Real audience applauds]
Tamera Mowry-Housley: That’s awesome, A.
Adrienne: And I know that some people are like, “Whoa!” But that has been amazing for me as the child, and I know what that feels like, therefore I want nothing more than to give that to our Lit-Kids – to my Lit-Kids and to our children…
[NEW CLIP]
Adrienne: The biggest difference, I think that might play a role in this…”
Loni Love: What?
Adrienne: Obviously I think, contrary to what blogs may say, if you played a role in the demise of the relationship…
Loni: Ohhhh. If you was the homewrecker…
Adrienne: I – I don’t think that you can be friends.
Loni: No.
Adrienne: I don’t, I just – I’m sorry, I just don’t think you can – look that person in the face with any kind of respect, with any – but I think if it isn’t that case, and you can come together, I think that it’s an honor and a privilege – shout-out to Meleasa – to be able to co-parent with her,
Tamera: That’s maturity, girl. That’s mature.
Jeannie Mai: Yeah.
Adrienne: It’s an honor and a privilege!
