*Busta Rhymes is being sued by organizers of a New Jersey event over claims that he made up a fake court date to get out of his hosting duties.
According to the New York Daily News, Rhymes told organizers he had to bail from the April 21 event in Somerset, N.J. because he was due in court in a child support case.
Organizers Anthony Calloway and Lloyd “Justice” Dawkins say they were immediately suspicious, because the show was on a Saturday and courts are closed on the weekends.
Calloway and Dawkins were later stunned to see that Rhymes promoted a performance in Scottsdale, Arizona during the time he was supposed to be in court.
Rhymes reimbursed his $17,000 fee, but Calloway and Dawkins say he still owes $7,000 in artist booking fees.
The $2.1 million breach of contract suit targets Rhymes, his manager Rasheem “Bubba” Barker and the Scottsdale club.
