*The year 2015 was a tough one for a lot of people, for various reasons. But it seems as though it was the worst for comedian and renowned actor, Bill Cosby, who was accused of drugging, molesting and raping several women, which led to his arrest in the year 2015.
The whole matter became rather public and Cosby’s sex abuse scandal was on the tip of every tongue that knew who the man was. However, Bill Cosby pleaded not guilty to the allegations, and remains free on bail.
Following the sex abuse scandal and further allegations, Bill Cosby remained out of the spotlight for several years. Of course, a man who has been reputed to be the perfect “father figure”, not to forget the countless times he has been given roles in TV shows as a family man, being at the center of rape accusations is simply not easy.
Although the 80 year old actor’s lawyers have vigorously denied claims, the actor is still set for a retrial in April of 2018 for the allegations that he drugged and molested a woman in his home in Philadelphia.

Furthermore, having shunned the spotlight for so long, Bill Cosby’s comeback was certainly not expected in the year 2018. However, the actor took to the stage in a jazz club in Philadelphia to perform publicly. Bill Cosby, sporting a grey hoodie with the words “Hello Friend” written on it – a phrase that his late son used to say a lot – performed on stage with the jazz band for about an hour and added a few jokes as well to keep the crowd entertained.
He was received by a friendly crowd and told stories, all the while honoring old friends. He also led the band in a set and helped finish the session, as he took a turn at the drums. Once he was done with the drums, he handed the drumsticks to the bass player’s son. As he did that, he asked the 11 year old boy if he had any idea who he was. He then said “I used to be a comedian.”
The crowd laughed along with the jokes and applauded him – something that was absent from all of Cosby’s last performances. This performance was certainly a step forward for Cosby, considering how he has shied away from performances since the allegations and his arrest that took place in 2015.
