*The dying words of Morgan Freeman’s step-granddaughter to her killer were, “Why are you doing this?” as he knifed her in the middle of a Manhattan street, a witness revealed Tuesday— adding that she and her friends were too scared to intervene.

According to the New York Post, E’Dena Hines was just getting reconnected with her estranged biological mother when she was murdered by her crazed boyfriend, the grieving mom testified during the murder trial Wednesday.

“The day before she was killed, I spent time with her,” said Hine’s mother, Deena Adair, as she gasped for breath while sobbing on the stand in Manhattan Supreme court. “We drove to Jamaica, Queens, to look at my grandparents house” and to “reminisce, to talk about her experiences, our different experiences.”

Adair is the daughter of Freeman’s first wife Jeanette Adair Bradshaw and another man, making her Freeman’s step-daughter and Hines the actor’s step-granddaughter.

Freeman adopted Adair, but later divorced Bradshaw and married Myrna Colley-Lee, who eventually adopted and raised Hines.

Adair did not raise Hines but began to reconnect with her shortly before the 2015 slaying. She recalled her parting words to her daughter the day before she was killed.

“I said goodbye and we would see each other again,” she said, hyperventilating from grief.

The testimony comes as accused killer Lamar Davenport stands trial for second-degree murder charges for the brutal slaughter. He allegedly stabbed Hines 25 times early Aug. 16, 2015, outside the Brownstone where they lived, while high on PCP.

“Get out, devils! I cast you out, devils! In the name of Jesus Christ, I cast you out!” he reportedly yelled while he plunged a hunting knife into then-33-year-old Hines.

Davenport is trying for an insanity defense on the grounds he was whacked out on mind-altering drugs. He waived his right to a jury trial, leaving his fate in the hands of the judge.

During Wednesday’s proceedings, the judge was shown a video of Davenport allegedly smoking PCP with pal Raymond Rosario.

Another friend of Davenport’s testified how he dropped by the Washington Heights Brownstone that night to find Davenport violently assaulting Hines.

“I tried to separate them, I grabbed him by the back of his belt and I pulled him,” said Jared Hamilton, 33, a high-school friend of Davenport.

Hamilton said he managed to pull Davenport off Hines but lost his grip and Davenport continued to stab her in the torso.

Lamar Davenport faces a maximum of 25 years to life in prison if convicted.
