*Noted scholar Dr. Henry Louis Gates, Jr. will take to the radio airwaves this week to highlight black history in support of the AT&T marquis Black History Month campaign, “AT&T 28 Days.”

The digital-first initiative celebrates the stories of black people who’ve made an impact both past and present.

Dr. Gates will discuss highlights from the digital albums on the AT&T 28 Days website. These albums feature black trailblazers who changed American history and are currently making history. This is the ninth year for the campaign.

Dr. Gates will also talk about his PBS series, “Finding Your Roots.” AT&T is the prime sponsor for the fourth season that kicks off this fall.

“Black people have been at the forefront of technology as far back as when Lewis Latimer drafted plans for the first telephone,” Dr. Gates said. “I’m proud to be working with AT&T. They’re continuing to share the stories of black trailblazers in the arts, business and STEM and hopefully inspiring the next generation of innovators.”
