*Cardi B is upping her profile even more these days. Last night she held court on the “Tonight Show” with Jimmy Fallon and won over a lot of new fans.
It looks like one of those fans was a producer on the show who was so impressed with Cardi that he thinks the Grammy-nominated artist should have a late-night series of her own.
If you missed it, know that even though Cardi didn’t perform, her five minutes on the couch more than made up for it, according to Complex. They wrote that at the top of the interview, Fallon asked her to break down the history behind her name and she responded with:
“My sister’s name is Hennessy, right?” she said. “So everybody used to call me Bacardi, so I always call myself Bacardi, right? And then it was my Instagram name—Bacardi, Bacardi B—but for some reason my Instagram kept getting deleted and I think it was Bacardi that had something to do with it. So I just shortened it to Cardi B.”
Interesting, who knew. Now we know.
The ex-scripper also discussed her Christmas gift giving methodology, her fiancé Offset, the Grammys, “Bodak Yellow” smashing records, long-awaited follow-up single “Bartier Cardi,” and more.
