*According to Shawdow and Act, the Madea movie that Tyler Perry is currently filming in Atlanta is actually a sequel to last year’s “Boo! A Madea Halloween.”

While details on the plot are being kept under wraps, former MMA fighter Tito Ortiz confirmed the news on his Instagram page a month ago:

Going from #Panama to #Atlanta. Got a great opportunity to work with @TylerPerry. #Boo2

“Boo! A Madea Halloween” is a 2016 American comedy horror film that originated from a fictitious Madea Halloween movie that was mentioned in Chris Rock’s 2014 film “Top Five.” It’s the ninth in the Madea series, and it is the second Madea film (the first being “Madea’s Witness Protection”) to not be adapted from a stage play. The film received generally negative reviews and grossed $74 million.

According to Box Office Mojo, Perry’s 7 Madea movies have grossed an adjusted $529 million (domestic), with an average production budget of around $15 million.

Perry shared the below video on his Instagram page a week ago, in which he talks about a Madea movie that he’s currently filming. Also, 2017 is the release year that   “Boo 2! A Madea Halloween” currently falls under on IMDB, so Perry fans may be getting another Halloween release the film.

Meanwhile, one commenter has a better suggestion for Mr. Perry’s next Madea project: “I love Tyler Perry movies! Couldn’t he have found another subject though? Like Madea on Family Feud with Steve Harvey or something like that.”

Are you exciting about a sequel to “Boo!”?
