*Gabrielle Union made an “unscheduled” appearance at the Television Critics Association’s winter press tour this morning in a schtick that eventually revealed the return of  her BET series “Being Mary Jane” for a fourth season.

“No pressure,” she said after tipping on stage during the opening address of BET’s Head of Programming Stephen Hill to ask him directly if her show is coming back.

“Um, we haven’t really talked about it,” stammered Hill.

“What is there to talk about? We average over 2 million viewers every week. …We also trend world wide,” Union said.

The bit continued on for a good minute before Hill made the official announcement. Listen to the entire exchange below:

Production on “Being Mary Jane” will kick off in Atlanta later this year – but without its creator and showrunner Mara Brock Akil, who left in May to sign an overall deal with her husband, Sam Akil, at Warner Bros. Television.
