Allen West: Confederate Flag is ‘Manufactured Political Crisis’ by Left

former rep. allen west*Apparently, the dust up over calls to remove the Confederate flag is nothing more than “a manufactured political crisis,” according to a former Florida Republican congressman.

Although he viewed the deaths of nine people at Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, SC as ““horrific,” former Rep. Allen West of Florida believes the uproar over the flag is meant to distract from the violence and problems hitting the black family in Chicago.

“This is what you see the liberal progressive left doing, is taking something and making it a manufactured political crisis to keep people distracted from what is really going on,” West said Monday morning (June 28) on “Fox & Friends” while quoting a statement from Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel that said to, “never let a good crisis go to waste.” “The death of the nine people in Charleston was horrific, but let’s talk about the deaths of all the young men in Chicago. …

“When you look at what is happening with the failures of the black family and the decimation in the 50 years since the Great Society programs of [President] Lyndon Johnson, we’ve gone from 77 percent of two-parent households in the black community down to 25 percent,” he added. “That’s what we should be talking about, not about a piece of cloth.”
