*(Via Baltimore BizJournal) – Three upcoming conventions have backed out of Baltimore in the wake of riots Monday night.
Meeting planners cancelled a citywide convention that would have brought more than 2,000 visitors to Baltimore later this week following riots that swept through Baltimore on Monday. As a result of the violence, the Door and Hardware Institute cancelled its ConNEXTions 2015 convention that would have been held at the Baltimore Convention Center April 29-May 1.

The meeting was one of at least three major conferences scheduled for Baltimore and subsequently cancelled over fears of violence that spread through the city in the wake of 25-year-old Freddie Gray’s death at the hands of police. The It’s Time Network on Wednesday called off its 2015 summit that was planned for May 1-3 at the convention center.
