*Usher has filed a lawsuit against Bryan-Michael Cox, Keith Thomas, Charles Hughes, and entertainment attorney Alcide Honoré over a loan tied to a Buckhead restaurant and lounge called Homage ATL. The $1.7 million loan, which Usher agreed to fund, never resulted in the opening of the venue, Ice Cream Convos reports.
The lawsuit claims that after Usher provided the funds to the group, no property was purchased, and repayment details became unclear. After several months passed, Usher received $1 million this summer, but he is still awaiting the remaining $700,000. The suit claims Honoré acknowledged that repaying the remaining amount was difficult since the funds had already been spent.
Usher is now seeking $4.9 million in damages related to the failed project.

Cox addressed the situation on Instagram, clarifying that he was not responsible for the deal and had no direct involvement in the loan at the center of Usher’s lawsuit.
He explained that he is a passive minority shareholder and is not participating in the legal proceedings. Cox reassured fans that his 27-year friendship with Usher remains strong, saying that once everything is resolved, his name will be cleared.
