*National Geographic is marking the 25th anniversary of September 11 with “9/11 Reunited,” a new three-part docuseries centered on the extraordinary connections formed during one of the darkest days in American history.
The series premieres today, Aug. 21, at 8 p.m. EDT/PDT, with all three episodes available to stream the following day on Disney+ and Hulu.
Created in collaboration with the 9/11 Memorial & Museum and produced by the Emmy-winning team at 72 Films, “9/11 Reunited” revisits the attacks through the experiences of survivors, first responders and witnesses who were brought together with people they encountered during the chaos.
The reunions offer some participants an opportunity to reconnect with strangers, rescuers and everyday heroes they may not have seen since that day. In several cases, the meetings are happening for the first time in 25 years, allowing those involved to ask questions they have carried for decades, express gratitude and reflect on the lasting impact of those encounters.

“Through the storytelling power of our platforms, we will mark this solemn anniversary with programming that honors the victims and their families and helps ensure that the stories of courage, compassion, and resilience that emerged from September 11 endure for future generations,” Disney Entertainment Television Chairman Debra OConnell said.
“9/11 Reunited” is part of Disney Entertainment Television’s larger anniversary initiative spanning ABC News, National Geographic, Disney+, Hulu, ABC Owned Television Stations and ABC News Live.
The broader effort will include live coverage, original documentaries and digital experiences created with the 9/11 Memorial & Museum as the nation approaches the 25th anniversary of the attacks.
