*Bryson Bryant, the son of “Real Housewives of Atlanta” alum NeNe Leakes, has reportedly been out of contact with his probation officer for several months.
Court documents reveal that Bryson missed required check-ins on August 14 and September 30. Despite attempts to reach him by phone, his probation officer was unable to make contact and confirmed Bryson was not in custody after checking local jail records, InTouch reports.
In May, Bryson accepted a plea deal in his case involving fentanyl possession and giving police a false name. Under the agreement, prosecutors dropped the controlled substance charge, and Bryson pleaded guilty to giving false information to law enforcement. He received a 12-month probation sentence, a $500 fine, and must complete 40 hours of community service.
Additionally, he is required to undergo random drug testing, substance abuse evaluation, or treatment, and must avoid alcohol and drugs. Bryson had initially been arrested in Georgia on July 3, 2023.
We reported earlier that at the time of his arrest, Bryson gave officers the name of his younger brother, Brentt Leakes. After police discovered his real identity, Bryson was hit with an additional charge of “giving a false name, address or birthdate to a law enforcement officer.”

When NeNe appeared on Carlos Kings’ podcast, she was asked if “Real Housewives of Atlanta” contributed to her son’s drug problems, she replied, “I don’t think it helped.”
“He needs a lot of counseling. Like many families out there, I have family members that are struggling with drugs and certain addictions. He has an addiction,” NeNe previosuly stated, per In Touch. “He’s been in rehab for a couple of times and he still has come back out and relapsed.”
“I’ve spent so much money on trying to get Bryson where he needs to be,” she added.
“But every time I’ve sent him off is because I said, ‘You are getting your ass up, and we are sending you off.’ But I learned through counseling myself that he has to say, ‘I’m ready to go,’ not me making him go. So until Bryson is ready to make a change, it’s nothing I [can] do,” the reality star explained.
After his arrest last year, Bryson was originally slated to be released from jail in early 2024 after violating his probation in a separate case, but he was released nearly three months early. The court warned him of the serious consequences he would face if he missed court dates related to his July arrest.
“If you fail to appear, your bond will be forfeited and a bench warrant will be issued for your re-arrest,” the court documents read, per RadarOnline. “It is your responsibility to keep informed as to your court dates. It is your responsibility to keep the court advised on any changes to your address.”
Bryson’s attorney, Dominko C. Rumph, previously told In Touch, “Mr. Bryant’s criminal case was resolved in May of 2024 via a misdemeanor guilty plea to Giving a False Name.”
He continued, “After reviewing the evidence presented by the State during discovery, it was determined that police likely did not have reasonable articulable suspicion to conduct the traffic stop that is shown in the body camera footage.”
