*In the ever-evolving world of logistics and business leadership, Denita Conway stands out as a trailblazer. As the founder and CEO of PROVEN Management, she has carved a path of excellence in a traditionally male-dominated industry.
In this interview, she shares insights on navigating leadership challenges, emerging industry trends, and the power of persistence in entrepreneurship.
Q: With all of the gender identity conversations that came out of the 2024 elections and are now leading in 2025, is it more difficult leading your company as a woman in a very male-dominated field?
Denita Conway: Leading PROVEN Management in a male-dominated industry has always come with challenges, but I’ve never let that define my path. I founded PROVEN in 2008 because I saw an opportunity to bring a more human-centered approach to the work we do—an approach that values trust, respect, and partnership. Those values don’t have a gender.
That said, 2025 is a time of change, and while conversations around gender identity and leadership are more prominent, what remains true is that competence, vision, and results speak louder than anything else. As a woman leading in this space, I’ve found that success is about setting the standard rather than following it. When you show up consistently, deliver excellence, and build relationships based on integrity, the barriers don’t disappear, but they become background noise.

Q: What are some of the logistics industry trends in 2025 that can positively impact growth in the industry? Is there increased demand in certain areas?
Denita Conway: The logistics industry is seeing major shifts in 2025, and many of them create growth opportunities:
- Tech-Driven Efficiency – AI and automation are reshaping logistics, making supply chains smarter, more predictive, and more cost-effective. Companies that embrace these technologies will have a competitive edge.
- Sustainability & Green Logistics – More businesses are prioritizing eco-friendly transportation and warehousing solutions. There’s a rising demand for companies that can integrate sustainable practices while maintaining efficiency.
- Last-Mile & Same-Day Delivery Services – With the growing expectation for instant service, companies that specialize in last-mile delivery, especially in urban areas, are seeing significant demand.
- Infrastructure Investments – Federal and state governments are making large-scale investments in transportation infrastructure, which will benefit logistics companies with the agility to adapt.
The key to capitalizing on these trends is staying ahead of the curve—anticipating needs before they become demands.
Q: If I want to wake up tomorrow and start a career in moving and logistics, what is the first call I make, what is the first move I make, and is there a class I should enroll in?
Denita Conway: Great question! The moving and logistics industry offers many entry points, and getting started depends on what aspect of the industry interests you.
- First Call: Connect with someone in the industry—whether it’s a logistics company, a mentor, or a trade organization. Understanding the business from someone already in it will give you a huge advantage.
- First Move: Decide whether you want to be on the operations side (fleet management, warehousing, transportation) or the business side (customer acquisition, sales, business development).
- Class to Enroll In: Look for supply chain management courses through platforms like Coursera, LinkedIn Learning, or a local university. Many logistics firms also offer training programs that can help you learn as you go.
- Never forget: Develop your trusted advisory group early. I keep a quarterly, bare minimum, conversation with my Banker, Insurance Agent, Lawyer, and Accountant. It keeps me honest, profitable, and risk-conscious.
Starting a career in logistics is all about taking action. You don’t need to have all the answers—just the willingness to learn and adapt.
Q: the instant gratification culture leading in all age groups, and even Boomers trying to keep up with the Joneses, how long did it take you to go from launch to now being the powerhouse company that you are? And how long should entrepreneurs in a 2025 America, with so much uncertainty, wait until they decide to pursue another dream or keep going?
Denita Conway: Building PROVEN Management into what it is today wasn’t an overnight success—it was a journey of persistence, learning, and evolution. From the moment I launched in 2008, I was committed to creating something that didn’t just meet industry standards but redefined them. It took years of building trust, delivering excellence, and proving that a human-centered approach could set us apart.
For entrepreneurs today, especially in 2025’s unpredictable market, the biggest lesson is this: growth takes time, but traction comes when you stay consistent. There’s no magic number for when to keep pushing or pivot, but I believe that if your business solves a real problem, serves real people, and you’re willing to adapt, success will follow. If you’re making progress—however small—keep going. If you’re stuck in the same place for too long, it might be time to reassess your strategy, not necessarily abandon the dream.
Q: After being named one of the “EY Winning Women Class of 2024” awardees, how does the mentorship, networking, and other benefits of winning that award show up for you and PROVEN in 2025? Is it the award that keeps on giving?

Denita Conway: Absolutely—it’s the award that keeps on giving! Being named one of the EY Winning Women Class of 2024 was more than just recognition; it opened doors to a network of incredible women leaders, mentors, and business opportunities.
In 2025, the relationships I’ve built through this program continue to shape the way PROVEN grows.
- Mentorship: Having access to top executives and business strategists has provided insights that help me make smarter, more forward-thinking decisions.
- Networking: The community of fellow EY Winning Women is a powerhouse of collaboration, partnerships, and shared wisdom. We lift each other up and open doors that might not have been available otherwise.
- Business Growth: The visibility and credibility that come with the award have led to new clients, strategic alliances, and increased trust in PROVEN’s brand.
So yes, this award keeps on giving, and I see it as a lifelong connection to a community that shares the same commitment to excellence and innovation.
