*Just months before claiming he was broke as a joke during his child custody battle, Tyrese reportedly spent $4 million on a swanky new home in Atlanta.
According to The Blast, the actor purchased a 7-bedroom, 9.5-bathroom, 18,000 sq. ft. mansion in January under the name of one of his companies, Voltron Enterprises Trust.
The home had been on the market for $4.495 million, but Tyrese got a deal, snagging it for an even $4 million, according to the report. Months later, the actor filed docs in his court battle claiming he was broke, making $105,686 a month with expenses totaling $107,576 a month. He also claimed to have property worth $1,761,250, which apparently didn’t include the new Atlanta mansion.
The new crib reportedly includes four levels, an elevator, four-car garage, private backyard with a pool, high ceilings, a 4,000-bottle wine cellar, theater room, full gym and a billiard room.
Tyrese and his ex-wife Norma battled in court for months with the custody dispute finally ending in November. The actor was awarded 50/50 custody of his daughter, Shayla.
During the case, Tyrese complained about his money troubles on Instagram, writing, “I’m almost broke swimming in legal fees.”
