*Jonathan Majors will give his first post-trial interview with Linsey Davis of ABC News Live on Monday (01-08-24).
Last month, the actor was found guilty of assault and harassment of his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, during a domestic dispute. We reported earlier that the controversial case derailed Majors’ film career. His acclaimed drama “Magazine Dreams” has been postponed indefinitely, and Marvel dropped him from the MCU.
Disney pulled “Magazine Dreams” after it was set for release on Dec. 4. Marvel dropped Majors as Kang the Conqueror after he was set to play the supervillain in “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty,” which is slated to premiere in 2026.
He appeared as Kang in “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” in Feb. 2023 and the “Loki” series on Disney+.
Majors’ army recruiting ads were also shelved following the Dec. 18 guilty verdict.
In a statement, his attorney implied that the actor intends to appeal, saying Majors “looks forward to fully clearing his name.”
Per THR, one legal expert said Majors “has nothing to lose by appealing other than continuing to keep the case in the news.”
Majors is scheduled to be sentenced on Feb. 6. Legal experts say he will not likely get jail time.
“Since it’s the defendant’s first conviction, although technically he faces one year of jail, the judge will 99 percent give him three years probation, anger management and possibly some community service,” said Cary London, a Manhattan-based civil rights and criminal defense attorney at Shulman & Hill, per THR.
Majors could spend up to a year in prison on the assault charge, but London said, “Mr. Majors is not getting jail time.”
In the meantime, the “Creed III” star will share his truth in the upcoming interview with ABC. As Deadline reports, it will premiere on “Good Morning America” on Jan. 8. The extended version will stream on ABC News Live’s Prime with Linsey Davis.
