John Amos Police Investigation Closed, No Evidence of Neglect of Care

*The investigation into allegations that actor John Amos was neglected by his caretakers has been closed, as authorities informed TMZ that they found no evidence of wrongdoing.

The outlet writes: “We’re told cops concluded the entire ordeal stemmed from an ongoing family dispute … and they put the matter to bed, officially.”

As we reported … Law enforcement sources previously informed TMZ that a case was opened to investigate claims made by Amos’ daughter, Shannon. She called Adult Protective Services to allege her father’s health issues were not being addressed adequately by her brother, K.C.

APS received a report based on Shannon’s claims and forwarded it to the LAPD, prompting an investigation.

The LAPD is reportedly familiar with Shannon and K.C.’s ongoing disputes, but the investigation focused on Shannon’s new allegations.

Back in July 2023, EURweb reported that Shannon said her dad was struggling with health issues, and her brother wasn’t providing adequate care for him.

As we reported … Amos was hospitalized last year after allegedly suffering “elder abuse and financial exploitation,” at the hands of a caregiver, according to his daughter. She claims the 83-year-old was placed in intensive care but did not disclose what exactly happened to him. 

Shannon set up a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for her ailing father.

“To catch and prosecute the alleged perpetrators, we now require legal assistance, hoping they face the full weight of the law,” the campaign read. “Meanwhile, our priority remains my father’s medical needs and providing him a safe haven. His home had been violated, stripped of anything valuable. The cruelty inflicted upon my dad leaves me questioning what kind of human could commit such acts.”

According to TMZ, “there’s nothing seriously wrong with John’s health — he’s assured us he’s doing alright — something we’ve heard from him before as well,” the outlet writes.
