*Director Matthew Vaughn is speaking out about his experience working on 2006’s “X-Men: The Last Stand,” which he was slated to direct before Brett Ratner replaced him.

During his appearance at New York Comic Con on Saturday, Vaughn recalled how the studio tricked Oscar-winning actress Halle Berry into signing on to portray the superhero Storm.

“Hollywood is really political and odd. I went into an executive’s office and I saw a script that was a lot fatter,” the director recalled. “I was like, what the hell’s this draft? They said, ‘don’t worry about it.'”

As EW reports, Vaughn was the director of the project, so he had to worry. At that time, the script had a scene in Africa where Storm would generate a thunderstorm to save starving children.

“That’s a pretty cool idea,” Vaughn said. “So I was like, what’s this? They said it was the Halle Berry script. ‘She hasn’t signed on yet, but this is what she wants it to be. So once she signs on, we’ll throw it in the bin.’ I said wow, you’re going to do that to an Oscar-winning actress? I’m out of here. So I quit at that point. I figured I was mincemeat.”

Meanwhile, we reported previously that Berry clashed with director Bryan Singer while making “X2: X-Men United” and things got so bad on set that she told him to “kiss my Black ass.”

According to co-star Alan Cumming, Berry allegedly hurled the comment after the cast staged an intervention for the filmmaker on the set of the 2003 superhero flick.

Cumming writes in his book, “Baggage: Tales from a Fully Packed Life,” that Singer “has himself admitted he was using painkillers at the time”. Per Page Six, the director “exhibited troubling behaviors including mood swings, paranoia and tantrums in addition to disappearing from set for hours on end.”

Over the past two decades, several men have accused Singer of sexual misconduct, claiming they were underage at the time of the alleged incidents.
