*The adoptive parents of NFL star Michael Oher claim he attempted to extort them after alleging he was robbed of $50 million.

The retired athlete, whose life inspired the Oscar award-winning movie “The Blind Side,” sued Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy for profiting off his story and likeness. In court documents filed in Shelby County, Tennessee, probate court Oher alleges that the Tuohys tricked him into making the couple his conservators, EUR reported previously.

Oher’s 14-page petition to end the conservatorship “alleges that Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy, who took Oher into their home as a high school student, never adopted him. Instead, less than three months after Oher turned 18 in 2004, the petition says, the couple tricked him into signing a document making them his conservators, which gave them legal authority to make business deals in his name,” per ESPN.

Oher claims he never received a dime for “The Blind Side,” but the Tuohys said he was paid $138K from the film’s proceeds, The Blast reports. He sent several text messages to Sean and Leigh claiming that he was robbed of $50 million, according to a recent legal filing.

Per The Blast, Oher allegedly texted, “Before I moved in I was an All-American, do better guys.” According to the outlet, he added, “I was robbed of $50 million+, 10 million is my final offer.”

The Blast reports that Oher threatened to spill the tea to the media if his demands were unmet.

In another alleged text exchange, Oher wrote, “If something isn’t resolved this Friday, I’m going to go ahead and tell the world how I was robbed by my suppose to be [sic] parents. That’s the deadline.”

“Think how it will look when this comes out,” he added.

Marty Singer, an attorney for the Tuohy family, called Oher’s allegations “hurtful and absurd,” TMZ reports.

In a statement to PEOPLE, Singer said the Tuohy’s “opened their home to Mr. Oher, offered him structure, support, and most of all, unconditional love.”

The statement continued, “His response was to threaten them, including saying that he would plant a negative story about them in the press unless they paid him $15 million.”

The judge signed an order to end the conservatorship in September, but the case is ongoing, according to The Blast.
