*“Abbott Elementary” star Janelle James is being slammed online after a clip resurfaced from her 2021 standup routine showing her making jokes about playing with her young son’s genitalia.
According to Decider, the cringy clip is from the Netflix special “The Standups,” in which the actress tells the crowd … “My youngest son got a d*** now. I didn’t know he had a d***! … They say you blink and you miss it — and it’s true.”
James continues, “I was sitting on the edge of my bed and he ran by from the bathroom — I guess he forgot his towel — And I was like, ‘What the f–k was that?’”
“You change the diaper, you play rhythm guitar on the pee-pee,” she added, referring to the boy’s penis. “That’s the best part about having a baby boy!”
Fans online, however, were not amused.

“Janelle James really just ruined Abbott Elementary for me. I don’t want to see her around a bunch of kids now,” one X user noted.
Another X/Twitter user wrote, “this is soooo strange im???? like the fact that she got up in front of a crowd of people and said all that with no shame???
As Decider reports, many accused James of “sexualizing her son & describing molestation,” with one person writing, “Ma’am, WTF!? And of course she’s in the proximity of kids as a principal on Abbott Elementary. She gotsta go.”
Several commenters defended James, prompting one X user to reply, “the attempts at normalizing it are exactly why so many little boys are sexually assaulted or otherwise victimized and don’t realize it or don’t feel like they’re allowed to talk about it.”
